Before booking your online White Card course, there is one important thing to understand: White Card training in Australia is regulated at the state level. The course you complete must be approved by the safety regulator for the state where you live and work.
The course you complete must match the state where you live and work.
White Card training is regulated state by state. Select the course for your state of residence:
✅ NSW Residents → complete the NSW White Card course
✅ QLD Residents → complete the QLD White Card course
✅ ACT Residents → complete the ACT White Card course
The resulting White Card is nationally recognised — accepted on construction sites in every Australian state and territory. Course = state-specific. Card = nationally valid.
This means you must select the correct state course for your residency — not simply the cheapest or most convenient session. All three of our courses deliver the same nationally recognised CPCWHS1001 qualification. The difference is which state’s safety regulator approves the training and issues your card.
White Card Webinars currently offers accredited online White Card courses for residents of New South Wales, Queensland, and the Australian Capital Territory. If you live in Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, or the Northern Territory, we are working to expand our accreditation — contact us to be notified when your state is available.
White Card training is nationally standardised under CPCWHS1001 but regulated by each state’s safety authority. Here is how the White Card works across Australia and which course you need:

✅ Once your White Card is issued — regardless of which state — it is accepted on construction sites in every other Australian state and territory. Complete the course in your home state once. The card works everywhere.
An online White Card course is fully legal and accepted on all Australian construction sites, with one non-negotiable condition: the course must be delivered as a live Virtual Connected Classroom (VCC). This means a real, qualified trainer running the session in real time, with live interaction and assessment — not a pre-recorded video or a self-paced click-through quiz.
White Card Webinars delivers every session live via Zoom with a qualified SafeWork-approved trainer. The result is the same nationally recognised CPCWHS1001 qualification as any in-person classroom session — meeting all requirements of your state’s safety regulator.
⚠️ Warning: Not all online White Card courses are legally valid. Self-paced modules and pre-recorded videos do not meet state regulator requirements. Always confirm your provider runs a live, interactive session with a qualified trainer — and that they are accredited by your specific state’s regulator.
“The way you check whether an online White Card course is legitimate is straightforward: go to training.gov.au and search for the provider's RTO number. Confirm they are listed and approved to deliver CPCWHS1001 in your state. Then confirm they run a live session with a real trainer for the full 6 hours. Both boxes need to be ticked. We are RTO 46244, listed on training.gov.au, with SafeWork NSW Approval No. 800603.”
How to Apply for Your White Card Online
The course you complete must be approved by the safety regulator for the state where you live. NSW residents → NSW course. QLD residents → QLD course. ACT residents → ACT course.
Upon booking, you will receive a confirmation email. One hour prior to the scheduled session, a Zoom link and enrolment form will be sent. The course can be accessed using a mobile phone, tablet, or computer.
Join the live online class, led by a qualified trainer, together with other participants. The session covers all required elements of the General Construction Induction Training.
All three of our state-specific online White Card courses deliver the same nationally standardised CPCWHS1001 curriculum. The 6-hour live session covers:
“Every session I run covers the same national CPCWHS1001 curriculum — but I tailor examples to the state I'm training for. NSW sessions go deeper on asbestos in older building stock. QLD sessions extend into heat stress and ENERGEX powerline exclusion zones. ACT sessions cover the heritage and government project compliance layers unique to Canberra. The qualification is the same. The context is what makes it useful.”
Choose your state below. You must select the course for your state of residence. The resulting White Card is accepted on construction sites in every other Australian state and territory.
📌 Not sure which state? Use the state on your driver’s licence or primary residential address. If you live in NSW but are working on a QLD site, you still need the NSW course — your residency determines the course, not your worksite location. The card works everywhere.

An online White Card is fully accepted by all employers, construction companies, labour hire agencies, and government projects across Australia. The physical White Card does not state how the training was delivered — it confirms completion of the nationally recognised CPCWHS1001 training through an accredited RTO. An online card is legally identical to a classroom card.
“I train workers heading onto some of the most compliance-intensive construction sites in the country — major government buildings and defence facilities in the ACT. Not one of our students has had their online White Card refused on a legitimate Australian construction site. What matters is that you completed it through an accredited provider for your state, via a live session. If anyone questions your card, show your Statement of Training and Statement of Attainment — those carry the RTO name, SafeWork approval number, unit of competency, and date of assessment.”
Yes. White Card training is regulated state by state. NSW residents must complete the NSW course, QLD residents the QLD course, ACT residents the ACT course. You cannot use another state’s course to satisfy your state’s requirements. The resulting White Card is nationally recognised and accepted everywhere in Australia.
No. A QLD resident must complete the QLD White Card course, approved by WHSQ. The NSW course is only valid for NSW residents through SafeWork NSW. If you live in QLD, select our QLD White Card course.
You need the NSW course. Your state of residence determines which course you complete, not the location of the site. Once your NSW White Card is issued, it is nationally recognised and accepted on QLD sites and every other state and territory.
Yes. Provided the online course is delivered as a live Virtual Connected Classroom by an accredited RTO approved by your state’s regulator, the resulting White Card is legally identical to one obtained through in-person training.
6 hours. This is the minimum required by SafeWork Australia and all state regulators. Any course shorter than 6 hours does not produce a valid White Card.
Not yet — but we are expanding. We currently hold accreditation for NSW, QLD, and ACT. Contact us to register your interest and we will notify you when your state becomes available.
